~♥~Flowers For Cailyn~♥~
♥~FLOWERS FOR CAILYN~♥~ Normally I do not mix family with my photography page, but we are in desperate need of your help!!! My little cousin Cailyn was diagnosed with a Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG). This brain tumor is a very rare form, and diagnosed in only 200 children a year in the United States. The median overall survival of children diagnosed with DIPG is approximately 9 months. The 1 and 2 year survival rates are approximately 30% and less than 10%, respectively. These statistics make it one of the most devastating pediatric malignancies. My cousin Martin, her daddy, is an enlisted Navy man and gives every day to help defend all of us. This little trooper has a lot of fight in her, but she is in desperate need of help. Her parents, Martin and Crystal Nelson, have to pay upfront to get Cailyn into a new treatment which is still in trial stage. Since this is a trial study, insurance will not cover the treatment and they must come up with a down payment out of their own pockets. Right now we are running a fundraiser “Flowers For Cailyn” – for every seed packet you buy on our website between now and June 15th -100% of the proceeds will go directly to Cailyn’s family for her treatment. Please, if you are planning on planting flowers for spring, plant a few in honor of Cailyn and help my cousin get the treatment this precious little girl so deserves. If you are not in need of flower seeds but would still like to help, you can also donate on her donation page at:http://www.giveforward.com/cailynnelsonpediatricbraintumorfoundation
